I SAW THEM I SAW THEM, I SAM MATT DOM AND CHRIS AND SURVIVED! LOL
Pardon my grammar.
Let’s start. I didn’t really expected that the show will be that epic, because I didn’t realy like 2007 concert.
We’d arrived just one and half hour before the beginning despite that we saw really a lot of people had already gathered on the dance-floor. I knew then it was nearly 2000 people just in fanzone. And we stood really far from the scene. There were a plenty of time so first people just stood still and listened to Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine and some random music playing from dynamics I couldn’t recognize. I wonder if it was chosen by Muse?
The band “We are the Scientists” played as the warm up. They performed a few not bad but not very impressive songs and let us know that this time the sound was just perfect. Last time in Ledovyi it was really bad.
After the warm up we waited almost 40 min before Muse appeared. During this people were really bored so the decided to “entertain” themselves so the crowd gone really wild. Every single one wanted to be as close to the scene as possible. It was like dancefloor turned in the battlefield. Several times I almost fallen while this bumrush. It was very hot because of people standing too close so I could barely breathe. I still could see almost nothing so I got they finally just because people stood in first lines started to chant “MUSE! MUSE! MUSE”.
Ok. Enough winning, closer to the clue.
I’ve already posted the tracklist, so you can imagine how awesome the show was. They started with beautiful Exogenesis Symphony Pt. I and continued with the powerful Uprising. Perfect song to inflame the audience and turn it wild. People were jumping and screaming the lyrics out loud.
Their performance ot United states of Eurasia literally took my breath away, it was magnificent. I truly believe it’s the best song in “Resistanse” and one of the best they ever did. It sounds so much better live.
The moment Matt thanked Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky was really sweet. Because you should be deaf not to recognize their great influence on Muse.
I was also very exited to hear “Map of Problematique”
Even SMBH, UD, Starlight and Resistance I’m not really into sounded really kickass because of the incredibly powerful and energetic performance.
But than came the best part. When I heard Citizen Erased intro I didn’t believe my ears. They hadn’t played it since when? Glastonbury? The first сhords of Megalomania made me think I hallucinate. I hanged on every word, riff and every beat. I was all like: OH MY GOD! IS THIS ALL REAL AND HAPPENING TO ME OR I’D JUST DIED AND WOKE UP IN PARADISE?
They also played Time is Running Out - the “neсessary evil” track. No shit the song rocks but it’s not my favorite. But I think they just enjoying playing it so much. In other way they don’t perform it every concert XD. I also believe guys liked how audience sang the whole song along with them.
The next following Hysteria is necessary evil too, but unlike TiRO it’s one of my favourites.
During Plug in Baby there were well known eyeball balloons filled with confetti floating over the audience.
Knights of Cydonia was the last song.
And I still find it hard to describe all the emotions I felt this night. MUSE are one of the best bands ever and despite people talking they are getting better and better from year to year. I’m so happy to be a muser since 1999.
